How to improve learning languages and achieve desired results in shorter period of time? Check out our useful tips 👇
- Set Clear Goals
Specifically defined goals have a huge impact on your motivation. Remember to make them achievable. You can use the popular SMART method, which means that your goals should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. It can be for instance, reading a certain number of pages or chapters of foreign press every day or learning a specific number of new words. Choose only those goals you know you can achieve, but make sure they’re not too easy, make them challenging. Finding the right balance can be difficult. It’s important that you feel satisfaction from the progress made after achieving them.
- Choose appropriate learning materials
Always choose learning materials that match your goals, level, and interests. For example, if you enjoy fiction, read original versions of novels. If you’re learning the language for work, read online business news. By selecting topics that align with your interests and needs, it will be easier to maintain motivation. Choose materials that are slightly above your current skill level. It should be challenging but not so difficult as to cause frustration.
- Practice regularly
Develop a regular habit that you stick to. 15 minutes a day may seem like a short time, but that’s 90 hours a year! Trying to learn only on weekends will be more difficult to stay motivated. To achieve the same effect, you would have to read for two hours every weekend for a year. That’s much harder than those 15 minutes a day. Shorter but more frequent activities are a great way to build a regular habit. Remember that 15 minutes a day is a minimum.
- Change language settings on devices
Changing the language settings on your phone, computer, or other devices you use to the target language can help you quickly improve your skills.
- Try language learning apps
Your smartphone can be a real support in honing your foreign language skills. There are many language learning apps available that can help you practice for example, while traveling. They usually use your phone’s microphone and speakers to test your vocabulary and pronunciation, and even allow you to have full conversations with automated chatbots. You’ll be able to set your skill level from beginner to advanced and set goals for study frequency.
- Travel
Nothing replaces conversation in a foreign language like being in a country where it’s the native. If you have the opportunity to organize an educational trip, take advantage of every opportunity to practice conversational skills. Try to talk to friendly sales staff during shopping trips, and if you go to a café or restaurant, always make sure to order in the local language. Before you go, be sure to take advantage of our General English Booster Course proposal, which is dedicated to all those who want to gain skills, confidence, and fluency in using English, in everyday life, in contacts with foreigners, or during trips abroad. The aim of the course is to learn practical vocabulary related to social, cultural, health, travel, and just everyday life 🙂

Join our language courses designed with your needs and developmental goals. Each of our trainers has their own proven and developed, as well as customized, way of working. We know that you appreciate not only the experience but also the energy and working methods of trainers, so we value cooperation with trainers with different methods of work. For us, it’s important not only to master the appropriate vocabulary but also for you to understand the business context of the language used. We work on a competency matrix, within which the trainer assesses the level of English at the outset, and after a specified period, we re-analyze the level to see what progress you are making. The level assessment is based on the best possible method, on multidimensional conversation.
